This is the first post in a new series reflecting, in some depth, on my past projects and the mistakes and wrong turnings I've made when working on them.  The series builds on some of the themes in my legacy posts, like Solving the Wrong Problems and Narrative & Time Management. 

I hope you find some parts entertaining but, more seriously, I hope that these posts resonate with your experience and help you reflect on it as I'm reflecting on mine.

This first story covers the stages of creating Espra Trustmap, a web site and service that lets you build a map of the people you trust and what you trust them for.  As I write, it's my most recent personal project and one that's still quite raw.
